Salvaging What Is Left Of America. Step 4. Term limits.

Yes, I know what you are thinking. We have had term limits in California for 27 years and it hasn't made a damn bit of difference! True, but on the other hand, we must find a way to prevent liberal dinosaurs like Diane Feinstein, who already has served in the senate for 25 years and will be 90 years old at the end of her next term, from being elected yet again, despite the fact that she has been senile and clueless for years. Enough is enough already! But there is a much more important reason to support term limits than weeding out senility, that would be to stop, or at least to slow down, the political corruption that is so common in the house of representatives and senate. In politics, especially at the federal level, seniority equates to power and power invariably leads to corruption. The politician sells this power for personal financial gain; the longer he is in office, the more powerful and wealthy he becomes, it's really as simple as that. How else could people with minimal financial recourses when they enter office, retire 20 to 30 years later as multi-millionaires. The answer, of course, is to limit their terms, 3 or 4 terms for a congressman and two terms for a senator seems reasonable to me. In my next blog I will discuss the issues of minimum wage and what we should pay for the goods and services we buy at our local business outlets. Health question of the day. You have a choice of green, red or black grapes, which should you buy? You may follow my blogs on The Conservative Pulpit by Daniel C. Merrill MD. There are over 200 posts to date covering a far ranging list of gardening and health related topics, as well as the political issues of the day.
